Abbey Lincoln and Max Roach in Vintage Sunglasses. This Blog is in memorial of an amazing Jazz singer, songwriter, actor and activist who died Saturday August 14, 2010 in Manhattan.
Abbey transformed herself from a sultry Jazz club singer to find herself in the center of the civil rights movement of the 1960's with the collaborative ensemble with Max Roach "Freedom Suite". She is know as a warrior of music and lived her life as her music both Loud and Proud.
