Muhammid Ali...Vintage Sunglasses

Cassius Marcellus Clay was his birth name but we know him as Muhammid Ali. The greatest fighter of all time.
Ali philanthropic work and social activism are well noted. He is unafraid to speak his mind on the social injustice of the times. In 1964 his refusal of the draft in Vietnam due to his religion was looked upon by many as an egregious mistake. This was a stellar moment in his career.  He would not stand down due to his commitment to the Muslim faith. This act forced him to be stripped of his title as well as being banned  from boxing for 3 years. He remains a revolutionary fighter in life as well as in boxing.
This photo of Ali in his vintage sunglasses, portrays a man who knows where his is going and has no fear of the path ahead.

Steve Martin...Vintage Eyeglasses

Steve Martin in one of the funniest movie of all time, The Jerk.  This 1970's film if you have not seen, is a must see...if you want to laugh. In this movie Steve portrays a character named Navin Johnson who was raised by a "poor black family". The whole movie is one big stand up routine by Steve and it is pure genius. This vintage photo is of Navin, who develops "The Eyeglass Gripper" so your glasses will stay tight and will not slip down off of the nose. He becomes a very rich man from his invention, until.....if you do not know what happens next, well then you must see the movie!  Laughter ensured this is for certain.
Atticeyewear has a great solution if your eyeglasses are slipping... go visit your optician! This optician feels that "you too can be someone" by your selection of vintage eyeglasses or vintage sunglasses. Style Ensured!

Otto e Mezzo...Vintage Eyeglasses

Federico Fellini movie Otto e Mezzo or 81/2 won two Academy Awards one for Best Foreign Film the other for Best Costume Design.
The movie title has a self reflective theme as well as the plot of the story. Federico suffering from a creative block himself portrays the same story in this 1960's classic. The star character of the film Guido Enselmi a movie director suffering from writers block begins to reflect on his past life and love experiences. This  dark comedy starring Marcello Mastroianni is filmed in black and white, so the excellent styling of the costume design can be so easily appreciated. The vintage eyeglasses in this film are bold and empowering. Find your Fellini inspired vintage eyeglass look at atticeyewear.com.

Claudia Cardinale is so amazingly beautiful.  Her exotic features and great skin tone are enough to make you want to visit Tunisia where she is from.  Claudia native language is French, she actually had to learn to speak Italian once her career began to move forward. Claudia has appeared in many of the most acclaimed Italian and European films. One of my favorite movies in which Claudia exudes her sensual prowess is in Federico Fellini Otto e Mezzo (8 1/2).
Her sultry deep voice adds an irresistible sensual dimension to her charm. Claudia owns her Look.

Maurizio Nichetti...Vintage Eyeglasses

This vintage photo is of  Maurizio Nichetti  who is considered one of Italy's most beloved comedic actor. He also directs and is a screenwriter, basically the "Italian version of  Woody Allen".  His classic pantomime facial expressions are enough to make you laugh!  He studied at the Il Piccolo Teatro under Marise Flach who was Decroux assistant for many years. He speaks a universal language of laughter through expression. Even without subtitles one can appreciate the comedic substance from his facial expression alone.
He will always be seen in his iconic round vintage eyeglasses. This look adds even greater dimension for his amazing talent of expression.

Easy Rider...Vintage Sunglasses

Easy Rider captures the 1960's era of American history when rebellion, drugs, sex and rock and roll were the societal landscape. This film written and starring Peter Fonda, Jack Nicholson and directed and also starring Dennis Hopper captured a new movement of film making. This counterculture film for all like myself who wished they could have experienced this part of American History is a must see. The soundtrack for this film is just as impressive, featuring artists such as Steppenwolf and Jimi Hendrix setting the mood perfectly.
The vintage sunglasses you see follow the same rebellion as the film.  Express your freedom of style in vintage sunglasses from atticeyewear.com.

Marlene Dietrich...Vintage Sunglasses

Marlene Dietrich one of my favorite actors.  I love this androgynous look she is sporting. So very chic especially for the times.  The 1920 and 1930 was evolutionary for women fashion. Coco Chanel and her mixing of texture and fabric for ladies fashion was all the rage. Women were experimenting with expression through their clothing and it was empowering! The time for change began and was here to stay.
